MAJ Hosts 2013 Back on My Feet Holiday Dinner

The MAJ New Lawyers Section hosted a charitable holiday event last Friday, December 13th in conjunction with Back on My Feet - Baltimore (BoMF). The event, a holiday dinner for BoMF's residential and non-residential participants and volunteers, was a huge success with over 125 people in attendance!

Every year Back on My Feet hosts the holiday dinner as a way of celebrating BoMF's successes and the tremendous work that is done at the ground level by their program participants every day, both to better themselves and each other.

MAJ would like the thank the following generous supporters of this event, who made it possible for the New Lawyers Section and MAJ to host the event for Back on My Feet.

Back on My Feet is a national for-purpose 501c3 organization that works to empower participants to transition out of homelessness.  There are four homeless shelters in Baltimore City that participate in Baltimore's Back on My Feet program.  Residents of those shelters can apply to the program which provides an opportunity to take charge of their lives.  The participants commit to run three mornings a week, at 5:30 a.m. with other participants and with nonresident volunteers.  The goal is not to create a team of homeless runners, rather it is to build accountability and well-being.  Participants must maintain 90% attendance, and if they do, they are provided with financial literacy and job skills, and receive assistance with job placement.  Learn more about Back on My Feet-Baltimore: http://www.backonmyfeet.org/about-back-on-my-feet
