The
MAJ Foundation, in partnership with the Baltimore
City Fire Department (BCFD), sponsored the 5th Annual Thrill
Show on October 5th at the Baltimore City Fire Academy.
With crowds teeming to get a close up look at demonstrations and fun activities
geared at educating people of all ages on the importance of fire safety, this
was an opportunity for MAJ to play a critical role in what is the largest
public education event of the year.
Several
controlled burns were held, but probably the biggest event that garnered the
most interest was the “Firefighter Combat Challenge,” an entertaining event
which tests firefighter contestants’ athletic and firefighting skills.
Specifically
for children: moon bounces, craft tables, safety skill booths, magic show (put on by MAJ member Michael Worsham) and a
Junior Fire Chief contest.
MAJ
Foundation had 22 volunteers who assisted with food service and logistical support, and we thank
them for their participation and those who made donations to the
Foundation.

For
those who couldn't make the event this year, mark your calendars for the 2014
Thrill Show. It will be held the first weekend in October, and the Foundation will begin soliciting volunteers
starting in the 2014 spring.
