MAJ Governors Elect New Treasurer and Parliamentarian

The Board of Governors of the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) is proud to introduce Thomas F. Yost, Jr. and Elisha N. Hawk as the association's newest elected officers, as treasurer and parliamentarian respectively.

Mr. Yost (The Yost Legal Group, Baltimore) has formerly served as an MAJ Governor and Parliamentarian, and is active with the association's Sponsorship and Taskforcing Committees. He received his B.A. Degree from Villa Nova University in 1983 and a Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) from Delaware Law School in 1986. He is also a member of the American Association of Justice, Baltimore City Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association. He has lectured on the issue of product liability before MAJ, as well as Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health on the issue of the societal problem of childhood lead poisoning. He concentrates his areas of practice in pharmaceutical products liability, wrongful death, catastrophic injury claims and interstate trucking litigation, FELA – Railroad claims.


Ms. Hawk (Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLC, Baltimore) is also very active with MAJ, currently serving a chair of the New Lawyers Section and  formerly as a governor focuses her practice on complex products liability and mass tort litigation. Since joining Janet, Jenner & Suggs in July 2009, Ms. Hawk has taken on leadership roles in multiple products liability actions. As a result of her efforts to bring justice to her clients, Ms. Hawk has been selected to be the State Chair for Maryland cases by the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the New England Compounding Pharmacy MDL.  In 2013, Ms. Hawk was honored by the Maryland Super Lawyers by being named a Rising Star for 2013. In addition to being an active member of the Maryland Association for Justice, Ms. Hawk also remains active in education, serving as the Special Needs Chair for the Parent Teacher Association’s Student and Family Council at Roland Park Elementary Middle School.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their four kids and two dogs.
